How Kini works
One place where the whole family can see what Mom needs, who is contributing, and what has been covered this month.
See. Share. Care.
Kini turns the invisible work of looking after a parent into something the whole family can see, share and plan for: fund, coordinate and manage care together.
-
Map Mom's care
Put everything in one shared place: her health, medication, appointments, daily updates and who looks after what. No more digging through WhatsApp.
-
Bring the family in
Invite siblings and relatives, wherever they live. Everyone contributes in their own way, with time, transport, check-in calls or money, and everyone sees the same picture.
-
Share the costs fairly
List what she needs each month, like groceries, medication, electricity and a hospital plan, and see each one marked as covered as the family contributes.
-
Be ready for the unexpected
Spot the gaps early and build an emergency fund together, so a hospital visit doesn't land on one person's shoulders.
Try a care pool
Move the amounts and watch Mom's month fill up. This is an example family with an example budget, so play with it.
Questions families ask
Is Kini available yet?
Not to everyone yet. The first version was tested with 10 families, and we're building the next version around what they told us. Join the waitlist to hear about new features and future testing first.
Who is Kini for?
Families who share the care of an ageing parent or grandparent: brothers, sisters, cousins and anyone else who helps. It's for the person organising things, and for everyone who contributes.
Can family members who live overseas take part?
Families spread across cities and countries are exactly who we're building for. When you join, tell us where your family members live so we can learn what you need.
Does everyone have to contribute the same amount?
No. Everyone contributes in their own way. What Kini adds is visibility: everyone can see what's needed, who has contributed and what's covered.
Is it only for money?
No. Families told us that before they can share costs, they need a clear picture of what's happening in their parent's life: a shared care map of health, daily updates and who is handling what. That's what we're working on next.
